The narrow 9" footprint of this keyboard means that it can be used wherever space is at a premium. However, the resulting reduction in key pitch spacing (14.6 mm, or 75% of standard) could make touch typing difficult. With the possible exception of those with extremely small hands, most will find it difficult to position their fingers over adjacent keys in the usual way. Adopting a two-fingered typing style can reduce the potential of overshooting the targeted keys. This keyboard is consequently more suitable for quick spurts of limited data entry than for extensive typing.

The incorporated cursorpoint mousing device is located directly below the spacebar and offers full fingertip cursor control. Large left and right click buttons flank it on both sides.

The fully-functioning membrane keys have a shorter-than-average travel and include a scissors mechanism that enhances the smoothness and stability of keyswitches. Despite including the smallest "physically functioning" keyboard available, it also includes both an embedded numeric keypad to offer full 101 key functionality. The Shift, Enter, Space Bar, Caps Lock, Tab, and all bottom and top row keys are all significantly smaller than on a standard keyboard.

The reduced key spacing and small size of the key caps make the Super Mini Wireless Trackball Keyboard primarily suitable for everyday two-handed use by children or those with smaller-than-average hands. For one-handed typing by those with average to smaller hands the compact width can reduce the movement necessary to access all of the keys and the convenience of an integrated mousing device will provide fully computer access in a compact 11.5" width. However those with larger finger tips will still have difficulty activating just a single key and would be better served by a compact keyboard with full-size keycaps and standard key spacing.

Although not ideal for daily use by many individuals the portability of this keyboard does make it suitable for short term use with portable devices. It can be powered the included USB cable, alkaline batteries, or rechargeable batteries.

The Compact Keyboard with Trackball from Solidtek is an 89 key mini-keyboard with a small (0.8 cm diameter) built-in optical trackball and buttons. All alpha-numeric keys are standard size; the rest are smaller than normal, including the Enter, Shift, and Space keys. There is also an embedded numeric keypad (legended in blue) instead of a discrete numeric keypad.

The Silicone Industrial Waterproof Compact Keyboard from Solidtek features a "slightly compact" layout with 17 mm key pitch spacing and large oversized legends. The result is an overall keyboard width of just 10.75". The Function Keys are just a 10 mm keycap but do offer access to media controls, email, and calculator as well as other commands. The "soft touch" rubberized surface is easy on the fingers and also keeps the keyboard firmly positioned. Numeric entry is accommodated by the embedded numeric keypad.

The 104 Key Mechanical Keyswitch Keyboard from Solidtek is a traditional-style keyboard with 104 keys, including the integrated numeric keypad. The high-quality mechanical keyswitches are rated for 10 million cycles and feature both tactile and audible feedback. All key sizes and spacing are standard, including those in the numeric keypad on the right.

Compact and economical, the USB Scissor-Switch Membrane Numeric Keypad from Solidtek has a reduced 17-key layout and weighs only 120 grams.
