The SwingStand from Sun-Flex is designed to encourage movement of the legs and feet at both adjustable and fixed-height desks. The SwingStand provides a bar on which to place either one foot (while standing) or both feet (while seated) and actively engage the lower legs and feet in movement. The bar is supported on ball-bearings to facilitate an exceptionally smooth swinging motion.
When using the SwingStand, rather than standing with both feet planted, the user can raise one foot, rest it on the SwingStand bar and let it gently swing. This simple movement eases pressure on the sole of the feet, engages the calf muscles to pump blood out of lower legs - reducing the risk of edema, and moves the ankle through a limited range of motion with only limited weight-bearing. This same action also works to provide relief for the lower back. With prolonged standing, the natural curvature of the back often becomes gradually more extreme as the muscles tire. This poor posture can result in fatigue at work, and backache at the end of the day. Raising and supporting one foot changes the muscle position - permitting the toxins to be removed and the cells to be rejuvenated. It also reduces the extreme curvature, allowing the back to return to its stronger, more gently curved S-shape. The partially supported stance helps to alleviate muscle fatigue and reduce the risk of back pain. The low 3.5" height of the bar lets the user easily switch from one foot to the other.
The SwingStand is also beneficial for when seated, permitting users to actively move one or both legs which encourages lower limb circulation throughout the day. Some users may also find that the movement aids in maintaining focus on their activities, serving to redirect undesirable muscle activity that might otherwise be distracting.
The Sun-Flex SwingStand provides over 15.5" of bar width for resting the feet. The heavy steel frame will keep it in place and stable under use but can still be moved in or out below a desk if desired when adjusting the workstation between standing and seated work positions. | Ergonomic Benefits |

Reduces Risk of Lower Back Pain Standing with the feet flat for extended periods of time (such as at a standing desk or counter) requires the muscles of the lower back to remain in a state of constant tension. This tension is greater if the abdominal muscles are weak. As the muscles tire, the back tends to curve or arch, which can often lead to an unnatural and unhealthy degree of lordosis (sometimes referred to as "swayback"). Since some degree of unnatural curvature is already common to many back problems, a standing workstation has the potential to increase, rather than decrease, pain and fatigue. Occasionally raising a foot and resting or swinging it on the SwingStand will slightly reduce this excessive curvature. This enables the muscles of the lower back to relax and rest, thereby reducing the risk of overstressed muscles and accompanying pain.
Reduces Risk of Lower Limb Circulation Problems Static standing has been identified as a contributing factor in the development of edema (swelling of the lower legs). When the muscles of the lower legs are not being flexed they cannot pump blood and fluids through the circulatory system. The active swinging movement of the SwingStand bar engages the muscles of the lower leg, encouraging the pumping action which then helps move these fluids back through the system.
Reduces Weight Load on Legs and Feet Raising the feet for a few minutes at a time reduces the overall load giving a chance for the tissues to recover.

- Sturdy Construction: The Sun-Flex SwingStand is constructed of 5 mm thick steel, with reinforced sides supporting the 10 mm thick swinging bar.
- Stable: The SwingStand base is both wide and deep enough to ensure stability and safety and includes non-slip feet that safely secure the SwingStand in place when in use.
- Dual Mode Design: The SwingStand can be used either standing or sitting. The movement that is naturally generated in either of these applications encourages lower limb circulation.
- Wide Support: The SwingStand offers users 15.75" of surface for foot support, enough for most people to comfortably support both feet when seated and either foot when standing.
- Comfortable: The gentle swinging motion is natural and most people will find themselves moving their feet subconsciously.
