The MultiRite is an adjustable two-in-one writing surface and document holder which also has the ability to extend towards the user and 'float' over the keyboard without any need for support. The sides of the unit are composed of 2 sturdy plate metal sheets which are riveted at the front to a third centre piece. Side-mounted quick release knobs can be positioned to offer two ranges of adjustment. The lower range offers 8º to 22º of adjustment with the second range extending from 3º to 33º. The rear of the MultRite elevates from 4.7 inches to 6.7 inches or 4.7 inches to 8.25 inches depending on the range selected. The easel is made of rigid frosted acrylic with a 0.2" high metal ledge at the bottom to support documents. Two ball bearing tracks allow the easel to extend forward 6.5" (16.5 cm) along the track in the direction of the user, even able to drop 1.38" below the work surface. This is sufficient to some or all of the keyboard. This accessory eliminates the twisting and overreaching which often results when writing to the side or 'over' the keyboard.
The elevated secondary extendable worksurface provided by the MultiRite gives users the ability to bring a temporary writing surface into their primary comfort zone which is typically occupied by the keyboard, and store it when the task is complete. A magnet prevents unintentional movement of the easel when it is stored, and rubber feet ensure overall stability of the unit. The MultiRite can be used on both single and dual surface worksurfaces as well as workstations with articulating keyboard arms or drawers. It is available in three sizes of varying widths; Standard (20"), Mini (14") and Large (22").
Note: Two styles of Wrist Rest Accessory (sold separately) are available--Gel or Foam. The wrist rest is approximately 9" wide, fits into the pencil groove at the front of the easel, and slides to the other side of the easel when not needed. As well as its intended use, the wrist rest can also serve to hold a higher stack of loose papers in place. Note: The Standard Width model is now avaiable as the Medium version of the Multirite Document Holder and Writing Slope. | Ergonomic Benefits |

Ability to Cantilever The easel on the MultiRite can securely extend over the edge of a desk or over a keyboard due to its weighted base and design.
Eliminates Twisting of the Neck/Head The MultiRite allows the positioning of reference materials for reading and writing inline (floating just above the keyboard and below the monitor). This placement of documents directly in front of the user on the sloped platform eliminates the need to twist or turn the head and neck.
Quickly Adjusts Depending on Current Task The MultiRite's positive slope of 19° can be quickly adjusted up to 27° with the quick release knobs on the Multirite to allow the user to choose the best angle for their current application as necessary.

- Extendable Secondary Worksurface: The secondary elevated worksurface provides a 14.17" (36 cm) / 20.08" (51 cm) / 22.05" (56 cm) wide x 10.63" (27 cm) deep area for writing and reference materials.
- Two Different Easel Locations: The easel can be located in the stored (back) or deployed (forward) positions, effectively providing two different working positions.
- Continuous Range of Height Adjustment: The rear of the easel can be adjusted to any desired height between 12 cm and 17 cm.
- Three Sizes Available: As the MultiRite comes in a Mini, Standard and Large size, there should be a unit which is suitable for almost any worksurface.
- Maximum Stability Option: When used with a sufficiently thin keyboard, the MultiRite can be adjusted to the highest setting so that the lowest edge of the writing surface will touch the worksurface. This would apply in cases where the user has an issue with an unsupported lower edge to their writing easel.
- Ability to Cantiliver: The easel on the MultiRite can securely extend over the edge of a desk or over a keyboard due to its weighted base and design.
- Writing Instrument Storage: A convenient pen/pencil ledge runs along bottom of writing surface and a hidden storage compartment is also accessible by pulling the writing surface towards the user.

| Usage Tips |
---|
- When adding a MultiRite to your workstation you will want to ensure that your monitor is positioned high enough that you are able to view the lowest portion of your screen without interference from the MultiRite. At the lowest setting the top rear edge of the MultiRite is about 5" above the desk. As the writing surface angle is increased that height can increase to over 7". If you are of shorter stature your line of sight to the bottom of your monitor(s) is at a shallower angle and this may require that you elevate your monitor in order to retain full view of the screen. If your monitor stand offers height adjustment that might be sufficient elevation. Otherwise you will need to consider adding monitor risers to increase the elevation as needed. A wide variety of monitor risers are available in height increments from 1" up to several inches high. The other possibility may be to consider a monitor arm which would permit the monitor to be easily positioned at any height as required. Taller users should not require as much elevation as their line of site is at a greater angle and they may be able to look down past the back edge of the MultiRite to view their screen. However, if the MultiRite is set to a higher angle setting even taller users will most likely need to increase their monitor elevation. Learn more about Correct Monitor Positioning.
Note: Users with multifocal lenses may find that raising the monitor is not an option as this can lead to RSI as a result of continuous neck extension. Neck tension and headaches are common problems which can occur as a result of this posture which can also have deleterious effects on the physical structure of the neck and upper back. In these cases alternative solutions for document placement should be considered, eg. a Slantboard or Document holder positioned to one side of the user. - Your workstation needs to provide sufficient depth and width to accommodate your MultiRite. Generally a wider unit is more desirable but there may be situations where a wider unit may not fit. The Large and Medium models will accommodate virtually all standard keyboard widths but the Small will require a Compact Keyboard no wider than about 13.5". You will also want to consider the placement of your mousing device as this may have bearing on which width you select. With regards to depth, when a MultiRite is combined with an average keyboard positioned at the very front edge of the desk you will need, at the very minimum, 16.5" of depth. If you monitor is placed closer than that it will need to be moved further back on the desk.
- When writing more than a quick notation be sure to draw the writing surface down towards yourself. This will enable your arm to be in as neutral a position as possible, with your elbow close to your side and positioned roughly below your shoulder. Doing this will ensure that you are not overreaching outside your Comfort Zone by reaching past the keyboard when performing more extended writing. Learn More About the Comfort Zone.
- If you are using the MultiRite on a workstation with a secondary keyboard worksurface or tray, ensure the front feet on the base of the MultiRite do not hang over the edge of the upper worksurface. Unsupported feet will decrease the stability of the MultiRite when the writing surface is pulled down towards you, making it prone to tipping when downward pressure is exerted on the extended writing surface.
