The USB-C Wireless Keyboard for Mac from Matias reflects the same familiar Apple design concepts that Matias has employed for many years. As a budget-friendly model this keyboard features a Silver or Space Gray plastic upper housing and a 500 mAh battery.
Equipped with high quality Matias scissor switches, this keyboard is designed for durability and to provide a responsive typing experience. Mac-friendly function keys provide access to screen brightness and media controls. The slim, low-profile design has a complimentary light weight of just 0.95 lbs.
Wireless 2.4 GHz connectivity on the USB-C Wireless Keyboard for Mac is provided through the world's smallest USB-C nano receiver, and the 500 mAh battery is able to provide up to a year of use between charges.
If a more rigid frame and less frequent charging are desired the USB-C Wireless Aluminum Keyboard for Mac offers the same USB-C 2.4 ghZ wireless functionality but with a high quality Aluminum face plate and a much larger 1600 mAh battery that can provide up to 3 years of use on a charge.
Note: Both the Matias Wireless USB-C Mouse and Wireless USB-C Pro Mouse can be connected simultaneously with the keyboard, using the same USB-C receiver, thus requiring just a single port. |
Ergonomic Benefits |
---|
Reduced Risk of Wrist Extension The Wireless USB-C Keyboard for Mac presents a low front profile which means that there is not a significant difference between keyboard height and the work surface. For those who "rest" the heel of their hands when keyboarding low profile can reduce the risks associated with wrist extension. Learn more about Wrist Extension.
Reduced Risk of Shoulder and Back Pain Keying on compact laptops requires that one position the hands unnaturally close together. This requires that the shoulders be "rolled in" and usually also down. This puts undue strain on both the shoulders and the upper back. Extended use of devices requiring this posture can have a noticeable effect on the health of the shoulders and back. The Wireless USB-C Keyboard addresses this by providing a means of entering data on these devices without the space limitations of the device width. In addition, the ability to quickly switch between devices means that those working with multiple devices may actually be able to increase their productivity since they no longer have to physically switch between devices in order to enter data.

- 2.4 GHz Wireless Connection: The Wireless USB-C Keyboard for Mac employs reliable 2.4 GHz for its wireless connection. The included USB-C nano receiver can also simultaneously support a Matias Wireless USB-C Mouse.
- World's Smallest USB-C Nano Receiver: This patent-pending design protrudes just 1/8" from the port, so small that it is almost invisible, virtually eliminating any risk of damage so it can be left installed at all times.
- Instant Connection: No pairing is required and connection is instant as soon as the keyboard is turned on. The 2.4 GHz wireless offers response with no perceptible lag.
- Rechargeable Battery: The Wireless USB-C Keyboard for Mac is equipped with a 500 mAh rechargeable battery capable of providing up to 1 year of wireless connectivity on a single charge. Recharging is as simple as connecting the USB-C power cord.
- Battery Charge Indicator: The Caps Lock Indicator also serves as a battery level indicator.
- Power Switch: Located at the rear of the keyboard, this can be used to preserve power when the keyboard is not being actively used.
- Encryption Standard (AES) Technology: Secure communication is ensured with 128-Bit Encryption between keyboard and receiver, ensuring the keyboard is suitable for high security corporate or government environments.
- Replaceable Receivers: The Wireless USB-C Keyboard 2.4 GHz wireless receiver is easily replaced should it be lost or damaged.
- Low Profile Design: The Wireless USB-C Keyboard for Mac employs a "chiclet" or "island" keycap which permits a very low profile. The profile tapers from 3/4" at the back to just 3/8" thick at the front, presenting a slightly angled profile.
- Illuminated Caps Lock Indicator: Many wireless keyboards eliminate this convenient feature, but not the Wireless USB-C Keyboard for Mac.
- Colour Options: The Wireless USB-C Keyboard for Mac is available in Silver (with White Keys) or Space Gray (with Black Keys).
- Slightly Concave Keycaps: To assist touch typists in their keying accuracy on the keyboard the keycaps feature a very slight concave surface just barely detectable by the fingertips. Raised bumps on the F and J keys assist in maintaining home row position.
- Mac-friendly Function Keys: Common Mac functions such as screen brightness and volume control are easily accessed. Those who require the traditional F-Key functions can temporarily access these using the "fn" key.

Usage Tips |
---|
- Make sure the keyboard is properly positioned. Sit in your usual position at your desk and gently square your shoulders. Allow your upper arms to relax to your waist. Lift your forearms at the elbow and extend your fingers so that there is a straight line from your elbow through the centre of your wrist to your middle finger. Adjust your seat height or keyboard tray so that your arms and hands can maintain this position as you type.
Note: If you need to raise your chair you will most likely need some kind of support for your feet. - Try to keep the straight line through the wrist while typing. If you find that your hands are angling up at the wrist you may wish to add a palm support to aid in maintaining that neutral alignment. If considering a palm support you will want one that offers a low profile to match the height of the keyboard.
