Performance and portability form the foundation for the TKO Tournament Keyboard from Kinesis Gaming. The TKO Tournament Keyboard is packed with power. The 4MB onboard memory can store up to 9 dual-layer fully programmable layouts for instant access to game or program-specific commands. Programming can be done directly to the keyboard or through the the graphical interface of the SmartSet APP (Available for Windows and Mac). Full NKRO mode and 100% Anti-ghosting design means no lost commands, regardless of how fast and furious the action gets. Macro delays, tap-and-hold actions, mouse clicks, and more can be easily assigned. As for speed, a 1MS response time (1000mhz polling) means that the best player wins - not the best hardware (not that the hardware doesn't matter - might as well have that advantage as well). The unique "HyperSpace" keys offer two additional thumb-operated keys that are easily converted to a full-width spacebar. Media and navigation commands are easily accessed via the embedded FN layer that remains available regardless of which custom layout is being used. And it doesn't matter the platform used - the TKO Tournament Keyboard will fully function with Windows 7-10, Mac OSX v10.6+, Chrome OS, or Linux. Just one full-size USB port will give any gamer everything they have always wanted - and more.
The TKO Tournament Keyboard is available in three models, each of which features a different type of KAILH mechanical keyswitch - White, Brown, or Red. These premium keyswitches are topped by full height concave laser etched Doubleshot PBT keycaps equipped with RGB backlighting that is fully addressable, meaning every single key can be customized. The TKO ships with each of the 9 layouts pre-programmed with one of the lighting effects. The SmartSet APP provides customization of individual key colours, speed, direction, and zone to create personalized visual effects. Secondary functions are clearly indicated by white printed legends on the front of each key.
In order to address ergonomics and further enhance performance, the TKO features a "ZERO" slope design that encourages a more neutral alignment of the wrists, with the alpha keycaps at a single level with the tops angled slightly backward. Front-mounted legs let the keyboard be moved into an even more negative inclination to enhance this effect. Large "side-tenting" legs let the entire keyboard be angled to the left or right to ease the strain on the forearm during intense gaming sessions.
The ultra-compact design (achieved by eliminating the 10-key numeric pad and reassigning the Navigation and F-keys as secondary functions) means that whether a mouse is used to the right or left, the reach is reduced to the absolute minimum. Gaming becomes easier and more comfortable with the keyboard and mouse in close proximity to each other. Numbers can of course be generated on the top row of keys. Those who want a stand-alone numeric keyboard have the option of adding either the Mechanical Keypad for PC or the Freestyle2 Keypad for PC and Mac. | Ergonomic Benefits |

Reduces Wrist Extension Most standard, and even many ergonomic, keyboards are positively inclined (i.e. the number row is higher than the space bar). A positive incline requires that the hands be lifted by bending up at the wrists. Maintaining the hands in this position strains the wrists and the muscles along the top of the hands and the forearms. The TKO Tournament Keyboard has a neutral, low-profile design with 0° slope that encourages a neutral alignment of the wrists. There are also front legs that can be deployed to add a "negative" slope to further reduce the risks associated with wrist extension. Learn More About Wrist Extension.
Eliminates Overreaching for the Mouse The TKO Tournament Keyboard facilitates placement of the mouse or other pointing device immediately adjacent to the right or left edge of the keyboard. By keeping the mouse well within the comfort zone, the potential for developing shoulder, neck and wrist pain arising from repeatedly reaching over the number pad for the mouse can be greatly reduced. (A right-handed individual with a conventional keyboard must often reach 12" for the mouse. The symmetrical, compact design of the TKO reduces this reach to under 6" for both left- and right-handed typists.) Learn More About Overreaching.
Reduces Finger Strain and Fatigue The TKO offers high performance Kailh mechanical switches (3 options available) so everyone can select the option best suited to optimize their performance and comfort.
Can Decrease Forearm and Wrist Pronation Deploying the left or right tenting leg on the TKO Tournament Keyboard tents angles the keyboard outward to reduce the degree to which the forearm must rotate for the fingers to make contact with the keys. The TKO should NOT be tented when typing with both hands. Learn More About Pronation.

- 3 Styles of KAILH Box Mechanical Key Switches: Each model of the TKO features a distinct KAIHL Box switch. There is the White Box Mechanical Mechanical (51 gram tactile activation with audible click), the Red Linear Box (51 gram linear activation), or the Brown Box (51 gram tactile activation). Everyone can find a model that best meets their requirements and performance demands.
- Fully Hot-Swappable Key Switches: The TKO Tournament Keyboard is equipped with hot-swappable switches so customization is not a problem. When a custom feel is desired compatible MX-style hot-swappable switches can be changed out in moments.
- Extra Keys for Customizing: Each TKO ships with 8 extra keys (4 each of the other two styles). For example, in the case of a White switch model, there are 4 Red and 4 Brown keys included that can be used to customize the feel and response of WASD or other keys.
- Fully Addressable RGB Backlighting: The laser etched keycaps feature full RGB backlighting with 9 pre-programmed custom modes. Keys can be individually programmed to any of the 16.8M colours. Custom lighting effects can be created a single key at a time for all nine of the available profiles. Pre-programmed lighting profiles include Monochrome, Wave, Spectrum, Breathe, Rain, Reactive, Loop, Pulse and Rebound. The secondary FN layers can also be assigned their own lighting profiles. The backlighting can also be toggled on and off as desired using a simple keyboard shortcut.
- Decorative Edge Lighting: The TKO offers six pre-programmed effects for the decorative edge lighting or individuals can create their own scheme. The edge lighting can also be toggled on and off as desired using a simple keyboard shortcut.
- FULLY Programmable: The TKO Tournament Keyboard can be fully reprogrammed for custom applications. The on-board memory is capable of storing 9 dual-layer fully programmed layouts (effectively 18 custom layers).
- Onboard SmartSet Programming: The SmartSet key located in the lower right corner of the keyboard provides quick access for custom programming or for special modes such as NKRO, MACRO, Game and Tourney.
- On-The-Fly Remapping: Key remapping is available directly from the keyboard using quick shortcuts. All keys are remappable, even between the dual layers.
- HyperSpace Thumb Keys: The TKO comes preconfigured with three optional HyperSpace thumb keys that can be programmed to enhance in-game performance. These can easily be converted back to a standard one-piece spacebar using the included spacebar keycap, stabilizer, and switch covers.
- Multi OS Programming: The TKO Tournament Keyboard supports Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Programming can easily be performed as Onboard Programming in all OS or Direct Programming - also in all OS. Those working within Windows and Mac OS have the added option of using the SmartSet Programming App.
- SmartSet Programming APP: The SmartSet APP offers those who prefer a visual interface the ease of programming and customizing their TKO Tournament Keyboard via a GUI. The SmartSet APP can be used to configure macros and special key actions, customize the RGB lighting effects, modify global keyboard settings, etc. Settings are retained in the 4 megabyte onboard memory.
- Special Actions Option: There is a menu of non-standard "Special Actions" available for programming. These can be programmed either directly or through the SmartSet App. This includes Tap-and-Hold.
- Full NKRO: The TKO Tournament Keyboard is equipped for FULL NKRO (n-key rollover), easily activated via the onboard shortcut. Once activated the NKRO mode remains active until the onboard v-drive is opened or the keyboard is unplugged.
- Game Mode: Game mode disables all Windows keys actions to avoid inadvertently exiting games. Game mode remains active until turned off. The indicator LED remains lit while Game Mode is active.
- Macro Recording: Each layout can store up to 7200 macro characters, with a maximum macro length of 300 characters. Macros can be assigned to trigger by a single key or by a 2-key combination.
- Variable Speed Macro Playback: Macro playback of text and key action macros is speed adjustable via the Macro shortcut, with 9 speed levels available. These speed settings range from 4 APS (actions per second) and 48 words per WPM (words per minute) up to an amazing 250 APS and 3,000 WPM. The keyboard default is a very acceptable 35 APM and 420 WPM. The SmartSet App or Direct Programming support the application of custom speeds - including macro delays - to any of the nine available settings. It is also possible to temporarily disable all macro playback without losing macro data.
- Convenient STATUS Report Shortcut: The TKO Tournament Keyboard features an onboard shortcut for viewing a quick keyboard Status Report in any text-editing program.
- RESET Options: Two methods of RESET are available. A SOFT Reset will erase all custom remaps and macros in both layers of the active layout. A HARD Reset will erase all nine layouts and reset the TKO to the factory default settings. To ensure that soft resets are not activated unintentionally this shortcut requires a unique 3-key combination. Activation of a hard reset requires that a 2-key shortcut be performed while plugging the keyboard in, also ensuring that completion of a hard reset is an intentional action.
- Familiar Key Layout: Standard TenKeyLess 60% layout means minimal adaptation time for experienced typists.
- Detachable Cord: The braided cable connects to the TKO via USB-C for a reliable connection and accommodates quick setup and breakdown.
- Sleek, "ZERO" Slope Profile: The TKO Tournament Keyboard features a "Zero Degree" slope design that positions all the alpha keys at the same height. This encourages improved finger and wrist positioning for a more ergonomic experience. The alpha keycaps also have a slight negative angle to further encourage a neutral wrist alignment. The numeric keys are raised slightly higher than the alpha keys to better distinguish between the rows.
- "Negative" and "Positive" Slope Options: While the TKO is designed with a neutral "Zero Degree" slope, it is still equipped with both front and rear extendable legs. The traditional rear legs can be deployed to elevate the rear of the keyboard, creating a "positive" slope (not recommended for ergonomic reasons). The front legs can be deployed to create a more ergonomic "negative" slope on the keyboard.
- Optional Accessories: WASD rubberized backlit keycap kits are available in multiple colours.
- Updateable Firmware: The TKO Tournament Keyboard is easily updated to take advantage of new features when new firmware becomes available.

| Usage Tips |
---|
- Try to achieve an ergonomically neutral position. Make sure the keyboard is properly positioned. Sit in your usual position at your desk and gently square your shoulders. Allow your upper arms to relax to your waist. Lift your forearms at the elbow and extend your fingers so that there is a straight line from your elbow through the centre of your wrist to your middle finger.
- Experiment with "tenting" your TKO Keyboard. If you are using just a single hand you may wish to extend the large tenting leg to angle the keyboard towards that hand. This can reduce the strain on the forearm by reducing the degree of rotation necessary for the hand to make contact with the keyboard. While it might take a bit to get used to this new angle the reduction in strain may be well worth it.Note: Do not attempt to type on the TKO Keyboard when either the right or left tenting leg is extended. Doing so will cause extreme strain and risk of injury to the hand and forearm that the keyboard is tented away from. If typing with both hands in a tented position you may wish to consider the Freestyle Edge RGB Split Mechanical Gaming Keyboard or one of the other split keyboards from Kinesis combined with an appropriate tenting accessory.
- The narrow width of the TKO Keyboard will let you bring your mouse much closer than you are used to with a standard keyboard. This will greatly reduce the reach on your right side which is good for your ergonomics but you may also find that it improves your performance with the keyboard and mouse in a much more compact footprint.
