The Goldtouch FlexMouse features a size-adaptable design that uses interchangeable adapters to create a comfortable and supportive position for hands of all sizes. The interchangeable "backs" mount to the rear of the mouse and are secured in place magnetically. They can be exchanged in seconds to accommodate either different types of work or multiple individuals with varying hand sizes. Large waterfall buttons let the fingers naturally curve over the front of the mouse where they are able to rest and relax between clicks. To click a minimal curl of the fingers and average force will activate the buttons. Clicking the scroll wheel (middle click) does require above average force but this is not uncommon as it serves to ensure that accidental clicks do not occur while scrolling. A DPI adjustment button sits just behind the scroll wheel and provides multiple settings that vary from 800-2000 (depending on model).
The FlexMouse supports the hand at an angle of 24°, reducing pronation. This position rotates the forearm outward, lowering the strain and stress on the muscles and joints of the arm, wrist and hand below that of the traditional "palm down" position. Because the "back" of the mouse is interchangeable each person can select the one that provides the most appropriate support for the length of their palm.
The FlexMouse has a smooth finish that discourages the tendency to grip the mouse, further encouraging relaxation of the hand and forearm. In addition, the absence of a thumbwell and the almost vertical sides eliminate points where the thumb and pinkie finger might attempt to gain purchase, further reducing the risk of trying to control the mouse using solely the fingers. The result is that the FlexMouse feels most comfortable when being moved primarily by the entire hand and forearm.
The Goldtouch FlexMouse is only available for right handed users; in both wired and Bluetooth models.
Note: Those whose computers are not Bluetooth-compatible by default should order a Bluetooth Wireless Receiver (KOV-GTM-D). | Ergonomic Benefits |

Helps to Relieve Pain in the Elbow The common "palm down" pronated position causes one of the two bones in the forearm to rotate over the other. This normal position, when sustained or when adopted too frequently, puts significant stress on the forearm muscles and on the elbow joint. With its 24° slope, the Goldtouch FlexMouse reduces pronation, facilitating mousing with the forearm bones and tissues in an anatomically neutral position. Learn why pronation should be avoided by those suffering from Medial Epicondylitis or Lateral Epicondylitis.
Reduces Risk of Pain in the Back of the Hand The interchangeable "backs" the FlexMouse comes with let each person select the most supportive option, ensuring that the palm of the hand is optimally supported. When this type of support is provided the muscles and tendons in the hand and forearm are more readily able to relax, reducing the risk of developing pain and discomfort due to lack of suitable support.
Reduces Outward Shoulder Rotation The 24° angle that the hand adopts when using the FlexMouse helps to rotate the elbow inwards, reducing the degree of "chicken wing" that can occur with traditional mice where the palm is face-down to the surface. With the elbow being closer to the torso there is a corresponding reduction in outward rotation on the shoulder.
Reduces Strain on the Fingers and Elbow Large left and right click buttons allow the fingers to curl naturally over the mouse without engaging the extensor or flexor muscles. This relaxed position reduces irritation of the ulnar nerve that runs through the hand and the elbow, reduces strain on the muscles and tendons of the hand and fingers, and allows the user to click with minimal movement at the finger joints.

| Usage Tips |
---|
- Try different "backs" to determine which one offers the most support for your palm. Each hand is different so what works for others may not be suitable for you.
- Make a point of avoiding gripping of the mouse. Rather, let your hand relax against the body and move the mouse with your forearm and hand. If you have been using a traditional mouse you may find that it takes a bit of time to get used to using different muscles - don't become discouraged if you do not achieve perfect control on the first day. Over time your body will naturally adapt and you will find yourself much more relaxed while at your computer.
- Keep the different-sized backs available for others to use or when you may want to change up your control. For example, going to a smaller size may permit more finger control should you find yourself needing to do fine movements that the arm may not perform as well.
- Use a low-friction mousing surface to further reduce the effort required to move the mouse. This can also provide better control when needing to make very small or tightly controlled slow cursor movements.
