The SAIPH Foot Brace Rail from ErgoVerse is designed to accommodate the varying postures adopted by those who use sit-stand or leaning workstations. The rail provides two angles of presentation, the 30° side more suited to seated or standing applications, and the 60° side which lends itself to leaning applications and stretching of the lower legs.
When using the SAIPH, rather than standing with both feet planted, individuals can raise one foot and rest it on the rail. This simple movement eases pressure on the sole of the foot and encourages blood to circulate more easily through the tissues of the lower leg. This same action also works to provide relief for the lower back, as with prolonged standing the natural curvature of the back often becomes gradually more extreme as the muscles tire. Raising and supporting one foot reduces this extreme curvature, allowing the back to return to its stronger, more gently curved S-shape. The partially supported stance helps to alleviate muscle fatigue and reduce the risk of back pain. The low 3.75" height of the rail makes switching from one foot to the other virtually effortless.
The SAIPH Foot Brace Rail is also beneficial for those who work at sit-stand workstations, and who perch or lean against a seat, allowing them to brace their feet against the bar. Bracing against the rail creates a more natural and comfortable alignment of the ankle and permits more relaxed movement of the lower leg muscles. When seated on a traditional chair the 30° side of the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail serves well as a low profile footrest.
The SAIPH Foot Brace Rail provides over 17" of rail width, supported on both ends by sturdy non-marking rubber supports. Grip pads keep the bar in place on both hard and soft surfaces. Raised ridges running the width of the bar can provide a comfortable massaging effect for those working without footwear. | Ergonomic Benefits |

Reduces Risk of Lower Back Pain Standing with the feet flat for extended periods of time (such as at a standing desk or counter) requires the muscles of the lower back to remain in a state of constant tension. This tension is even greater if the abdominal muscles are weak. As the muscles tire, the back tends to curve or arch, which can often lead to an unnatural and unhealthy degree of lordosis (sometimes referred to as "swayback"). Since some degree of unnatural curvature is already common to many back problems, an inappropriately-used standing workstation has the potential to increase, rather than decrease, pain and fatigue. Occasionally raising a foot and resting it on the SAIPH will slightly reduce this excessive curvature. This enables the muscles of the lower back to relax and rest, thereby reducing the risk of overstressed muscles and accompanying pain.
Reduces Risk of Lower Limb Circulation Problems Static standing has been identified as a contributing factor in the development of edema (swelling of the lower legs). When the muscles of the lower legs are not being flexed they cannot pump blood and fluids through the circulatory system. As the feet are raised and lowered while using the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail, the muscles of the lower legs are engaged, encouraging the pumping action which then helps move these fluids back through the system.
Reduces Weight Load on Legs and Feet Raising the feet for a few minutes at a time reduces the overall load, providing an opportunity for the tissues to recover. Those using a perching or leaning seat can use the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail to brace themselves, creating a more comfortable and relaxing posture and transferring even more weight from the feet to the seat.
Provides for Lower Leg Stretching In addition to being a good bracing position when using a leaning seat, the 60° angled side is also ideal for performing regular stretching of the Achilles tendons and calf muscles.
Encourages Neutral Ankle Alignment Many common types of leaning stools or seats put the ankle into a position of plantar flexion. While the ankle is fully capable of handling an average degree of plantar flexion this should occur in combination with an equal amount of dorsiflexion—this is what occurs in the act of walking or running. However, by leaning against a seat or stool with the feet planted flat on the floor, the ankle is placed into sustained plantar flexion. Extended time spent in this position can increase the risk of shortening the Achilles tendon or developing plantar fasciitis. This risk can be further exacerbated by high heels. When using the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail to brace against while sitting on a typical leaning stool, it is possible to angle the foot upward, significantly reducing the risk of sustained plantar flexion. The result is that the angle between the leg and ankle is now much closer to the neutral 90°, yielding a much safer position.

- Sturdy Construction: The SAIPH Foot Brace Rail features a sturdy extruded aluminum bar or "Rail" supported at the ends by plastic feet that are engineered to provide a high degree of support when weight is placed against the rail. Rubber grip pads on each end support ensure that the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail remains securely in position on all types of flooring.
- Lightweight: Despite being very strong, the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail weighs in at just 3.0 lbs (1.36 kg) and can be moved easily when necessary.
- Stable: The SAIPH includes non-slip textured feet that safely secure the Foot Brace Rail in place when in use, resulting in a stable surface for both resting and bracing against.
- Dual Mode Design: The SAIPH Foot Brace Rail is designed with Sitting, Standing and Leaning all taken into consideration. For sitting and standing the contoured rail presents a 3" deep resting surface, comfortably angled at 30°. For use as a bracing rail when using a leaning seat or when desiring to stretch the lower legs the rail presents a much smaller profile that generates a 60° angle for the feet.
- Wide Support: The SAIPH Foot Brace Rail offers 17" of surface width for foot support, enough for most people to comfortably brace both feet against when used with a leaning stool or similar seat.
- Comfortable: The ridges running the width of the rail provide a texture that can help to stimulate nerves and improve circulation in the feet when the SAIPH is used without footwear. The curve of the bar ensures a comfortable placement regardless of where the feet are positioned. The 30° angled side also has ridges on the plastic end supports.

| Usage Tips |

- When using the SAIPH Foot Brace Rail while standing, regularly switch between fully standing well-balanced over both feet, and alternate between the left or right foot being placed on the rail. Extended standing with one foot raised can produce an imbalance in posture. Over the long term this may result in discomfort developing in the hip of the single leg that is providing the majority of weight support.
- If using a leaning seat, take advantage of the stretching possibilities presented by the 60° side of the SAIPH. This side will also provide the most neutral and natural alignment for the foot/ankle/lower leg.
