ArmSupport Red

The ArmSupport Red from Contour Design is designed specifically for use with the RollerMouse Red. The ArmSupport Red mounts directly to the desk or worksurface, providing a rigid extended arm support to reduce the load on the shoulders. The foam cushioning ensures comfort even during extended work sessions and the leather-like cover is easily cleaned. In order to use the ArmSupport Red, the standard palm support included with the RollerMouse Red is detached and set aside. The RollerMouse Red then "docks" directly into the ArmSupport Red, creating a single solution that combines the ergonomic benefits of an extended arm support with the convenience of a centrally-positioned RollerMouse.

The ArmSupport Red is especially beneficial for those who may be working at elevated workstations where the usual support provided by chair armrests is not available. Height adjustable workstations are also ideal locations to deploy the ArmSupport Red because these workstations are easily adjusted in height to find the optimum support position.

• The ArmSupport Red is ideal for those working at adjustable height workstations. When standing or leaning the support generally provided by chair armrests is not available. This leaves the shoulders and neck muscles bearing the weight that is usually placed on the armrests. The ArmSupport Red ensures that whether you are sitting, standing or somewhere in-between, the shoulders and neck are able to relax while working.
• When using the ArmSupport Red and a RollerMouse Red from a traditional seated position you will need to ensure that you are sitting high enough for your shoulders to relax. In addition your elbows should be positioned below your shoulders when your forearms and hands are resting on the arm support. If you have a height-adjustable desk this will be easy to achieve by a simple adjustment of the desk. However, in the case of "fixed height" work surfaces, because the average desk height is well above the optimum position for most people, it will almost certainly be necessary to raise your chair and add a footrest in order to get to the appropriate ergonomic height.
